NUTR 3362 Course Introduction

Welcome to NUTR 3362 Nutrition and Health! In this course, you will learn the nutrients and their function in promoting health throughout the lifespan. The study also includes standards for consumer selection of a proper diet and analysis of nutrition related health problems.

Please view the Syllabus_NUTR 3362_Fall 2021.pdf and frequently asked questions documents for important information regarding the course.

  1. Lectures will be delivered on Tue/Thu 2:00 pm-3:20 pm at Albert B. Alkek Library 250.
  2. While Texas State cannot currently require you to be vaccinated or to wear a face mask, we strongly urge you get vaccinated and wear a mask indoors, regardless of vaccination status. These prevention measures significantly reduce the risk of infection and transmission of COVID-19.
  3. Assigned seats and attendance tracking must be used in all classroom learning spaces to benefit contact tracing should a positive COVID-19 case emerge.
  4. Please discuss with me if absences become excessive. Students who wish to claim excused absences for illness or ANY OTHER REASON, MUST CONTACT the Dean of Students Office (http://www.dos.txstate.edu/, 512-245-2124, dosoffice@txstate.edu, LBJ Student Center Suite 5-9.1) for assistance (UPPS No. 02.06.03 http://www.txstate.edu/effective/upps/upps-02-06-03.html). Only absences noted through the Dean of Students (http://www.dos.txstate.edu) will be excused.

         In the case of COVID-19:

      • Students who must isolate or quarantine due to Covid-19 should report to Bobcat Trace and contact their professors to make appropriate arrangements for completing assignments.  Students can notify instructors directly or utilize the absence notifications form.
      • For those who miss class, in the spirit of inclusiveness, I will make every effort to record and post lectures on CANVAS after class. I will do everything I can to facilitate your success in this class, and your grade will not be affected by your absences.
