M13: Culture, Equity, and Language

As you watch this video of adults who went through schooling as ELs, consider the following:

  1. What were the experiences of these ELs?
  2. How does this relate to being an advocate? 
  3. How can we make sure future generations don't have the negative experiences these ELs had?

 

Now compare your thoughts and ideas to what the book says about advocacy.  Now read pp. 313-321 in the textbook on various ways and programs to support and advocate for our ELLs.
