M9: Strategies that Promote Listening and Speaking

Get ready! You will be introduced to a lot more strategies during the remainder of our course time together! We will start here with a few that are specific to promote listening and speaking skills. Be aware, however, that there is a lot of overlap in language. A strategy may be highlighted here in regard to oral language, but you will see that there is also a reading or writing element to it. A Gallery Walk, for example, is one of the strategies you'll read about next to promote oral language; however, a Gallery Walk can also include a lot of reading and/or writing, depending on how it is designed. 

Keep in mind that all strategies can be modified and adjusted to meet a teacher's designated content and language targets.
