Triads: The B Diminished Triad - Component Intervals of Diminished Triads, Pt. 2
Diminished triads contain two minor 3rds:
- The m3 between the root and the third
- The m3 between the third and the fifth.
In a diminished triad, the interval between the root and the fifth is always a diminished fifth (dim5).
A diminished 5th (dim5) is one half-step smaller than a P5.
