Learning Activity #2: Assessing Reading Comprehension Using MAZE Curriculum-Based Measurement (CBM)

Assignment Overview

Now that you have an understanding of MAZE Curriculum-Based Measurement, you will complete a learning activity to help you master the module objectives.

In this assignment you will create a MAZE CBM probe.  Follow these steps BEFORE you start this activity:

Step 1: Save this reading passage to your computer: MAZE Passage.docx

Step 2:  Navigate to the MAZE Passage Generator at Intervention Central's CBM Warehouse.  Copy and paste the passage into the generator to create your MAZE passage.

Step 3: Check the readability based on the Flesch-Kincaid level and note the grade level.  

Step 4: Download your document and answer key as a PDF (both are in the PDF you will download).

Once you have completed those steps, click "Take Quiz" and respond to the questions within this activity.

Note. It may be helpful to print the MAZE and make notes on the probe. You do NOT need to upload your MAZE that includes these notes; however, it may help with answering the questions.
