Module 4: Getting Started with a Submission
Definitions First:
The Author's Accepted Manuscript draft of your journal article is what's best to submit for addition to the repository. Think of the Author's Accepted Manuscript as the final draft of your journal article that got accepted or approved for publication by a journal. It includes all changes made as a result of the peer-review process, excluding the publisher typesetting and logos. This draft is usually a Word document file.
The Version of Record is the final draft that they publish in their journal, which includes elements like publisher logos and typesetting. If staff processing your submission find that the Version of Record can be used then we'll download and process that draft. Usually we are not allowed to archive the Version of Record, but our Digital Collections record will include a link to that final version.
