From Groups

From Groups allow you to cross-reference the contents of your existing Groups and Smart Groups. For example, you can generate a list of records that appear in multiple groups, or find out which records appear in one group but not another.

  • From the Groups menu, select Create From Group.
  • The From Group selection menu will pop up (screenshot above). In this box, you can select the Groups to be cross-referenced and indicate what relationship you would like to check. This is done using Boolean operators.
    • AND will find records that appear in both Groups.
    • OR will find records that appear in either Group.
    • NOT will find records that appear in the first Group but not the second.
  • The contents of a From Group will change if and when the contents of the Groups or Smart Groups it references change.
  • From Groups cannot be shared with other EndNote users.
  • The icon for a From Group is a Venn diagram, indicating that this type of Group can show the overlap between other Groups.
