Find Full Text-2
As described in the importing section of the Basic module, PDFs are not automatically imported from our library databases. One way to attach PDFs with minimal effort is using the built-in Find Full Text function in EndNote. On this page you will learn how to use Find Full Text to attach open access PDFs to your records.
- In EndNote Desktop, identify the records for which you want to find a PDF. Remember that records with a paperclip icon already have a PDF attached.
- Select all the records you've identified and right click to pull up the menu. Go to Find Full Text then Find Full Text again on the submenu.
- When the window shown in the screenshot below pops up, you do not need to log in. However, you should click the Continue button.
- This will start the process of searching for full text. EndNote will look for any PDFs that are openly available on the Internet and automatically attach any results. Sometimes it will not find a PDF but will find a full-text URL instead.
- You can monitor your search progress at the bottom of the My Library sidebar (screenshot below).
