Exporting to EndNote Web Using RIS

  • If you are importing records that you exported from the library catalog, it will be a .txt or text file and you will need to change the Import Option dropdown to Refer/BibIX.
  • If you are using a database (JSTOR and ABI-Inform are two notable examples) that does not offer a direct export to EndNote Web option, you will select the RIS  (Research Information Systems) option.  This requires more steps than the easier direct export option. You will save the item as RIS and then select import in your EndNote account.
