ART THEORY & PRACTICE FOR ADOL
Theory & Practice for Adolescents. This course is for art education majors seeking knowledge, skills and field experiences preparing them for teaching visual arts secondary students in middle and high schools. Students in this course will explore the many ways art contributes to culture and social consciousness, develops critical and creative thinking, and heightens empathy among youth. Course topics include youth artistic development; designing instruction; professional presentation; students with special needs and classroom management for middle and high school students. 10 hours of field engagement in school and community settings are scheduled in classes.
